About NaturalFix
Erica Longstaff
Naturopathic Practitioner
Years of eating and drinking what I liked, minimal exercise and a stressful lifestyle with no balance, left me in mental and physical pain and living on pharmaceuticals. I was emotionally drained and just treading water, never knowing how I might be feeling from one day to the next. I started canceling appointments and meetings with friends. I wanted to hide from the world. It was a lonely and dark time.
Following months of soul searching, I finally discovered where my true passion lay 'natural medicine'. I set in place a goal to become a natural health & wellness consultant. During my Bachelor of Natural Medicine training, I met some wonderful naturopathic practitioners and under their guidance slowly worked on my own health. For me this included cleaning up my diet, quitting most of my medicines, changing jobs and moving towns. I've never looked back and I love what I do.
Now I help clients find their optimal wellness through developing a deeper understanding of their nutrition and lifestyle choices, and how these may be affecting their health. As a naturopathic practitioner, I aim to help you create balance in your life, prioritize your well-being and celebrating all aspects of your true self.
By finding this website, the universe is telling you it’s now your time to nurture your body and soul, so call me. Let's fix it together!

Frequently ask questions
I hope I covered everything you need to know about me, my approach, and my services. Below you’ll find a collection of commonly asked questions. If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
What does a Naturopathic Practitioner do?
A qualified, registered naturopath can assist you to improve your health, through a holistic approach to your condition. Mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. We aim to resolve your issues by diving deep into the cause, whatever that may be.
Before suggesting a treatment path a naturopath may consider your mental/emotional health, home environment and your childhood health history and then present an evidence-based wellness plan to get you on the road to good health.
This plan may include diet and lifestyle changes, quality supplements and/or herbal medicines.
How can I start working with you?
Let's begin by having a free 15 minute chat.
Either phone, email or text me and then we can arrange to briefly discuss your issues and I can confirm whether a Naturopathic consult can help. We can then arrange your first appointment at a time and date that works for you.
How should I prepare for my initial consultation?
Allow at least 1 1/2 hours for your initial consultation. I will ask lots of questions about both your current health and your health history.
Bring with you a list or photo, of any medications or supplements you are currently taking, including dosages and who prescribed them.
Please bring a copy of your most recent laboratory results, and any reports from x-rays or scans if you have them.
Can I bring someone with me?
Please feel free to bring a support person (friend or family member) with you to your appointment.
If another family member would like to see me, I will see them at a separate appointment but can offer a family rate on request.
Are you going to sell me expensive supplements?
In an ideal world, your health complaints could easily be remedied through diet or lifestyle changes. Unfortunately, that is not always the case, and whilst you are making life changes, supplements may be needed for support i.e. immune support, something for anxiety or sleep.
I work within the available budget of my clients. Often the practitioner-only supplements or herbal tinctures are the most potent and therapeutic; and I will recommend them if appropriate, but will suggest cheaper 'over the counter' if preferred.
Supplements are not subsidised by the government, which is why they may cost more than your pharmaceuticals.
When I visit the GP I only pay a fraction of the cost that you charge, why is that?
The Government heavily subsidizes your doctor's visit. GP's are considered part of NZ's primary healthcare service, whilst naturopathic practitioners are not. Our professional association, the Naturopaths and Medical Herbalists of New Zealand are hoping to change that in the next few years.
My charge includes your time spent with me, but also time after you leave researching your particular health complaints, sourcing personalized supplements and herbs, and creating a individualized wellness plan, just for you.
Do I have to see you in person?
I do prefer the initial consultation to be in person. This allows me to really get to know you i.e. see the colour of your skin, tongue and nails. Take your height and weight or other relevant measurements. Feel if you are cold, check for swelling or assess skin conditions and take your blood pressure and temperature.
My home-based clinic is in Oxford, North Canterbury.
Follow-up consults can be online if you prefer.
